Athletes working through a coached strength session with kettlebells in a daylit studio

Strength coaching · small studio

Training that fits the week you actually have.

Cloud Thread is a one-coach studio. You get a plan built around your schedule, your history and the equipment in front of you — then someone who keeps an eye on it week after week.

One-to-one & small group Beginners welcome Plans reviewed monthly

The approach

Fewer moving parts, followed properly.

Progress comes from a plan you can repeat, not from a new programme every fortnight. Three things shape every block of training here.

  • 01

    Start where you are

The first session is assessment, not a fitness test. We look at movement, past injuries and what your week realistically allows before anything is written down.

  • 02

    Build a repeatable week

Two or three sessions you can hold onto beat five you abandon by March. Your plan is sized to the time you have, then loaded gradually from there.

  • 03

    Adjust on evidence

Every session is logged. Each month we read the log together and change what needs changing — load, exercise selection, recovery, or the schedule itself.

Programmes

Three ways to train with me.

All three start with the same consultation and assessment. The difference is how much of the week happens in the studio with me and how much happens on your own.

One to one

Studio Sessions

Coached strength work in the studio, one person at a time. Best if you are new to lifting, returning after a break, or want technique watched closely.

  • 60-minute coached sessions
  • Movement assessment and re-check
  • Written plan for days between sessions

1–3 sessions per week

Hybrid

Coached + Independent

One studio session a week to set technique and load, with the rest of the plan written for your own gym or home setup and reviewed each week.

  • Weekly 60-minute studio session
  • Programme written to your equipment
  • Weekly written check-in on your log

1 coached + 1–3 solo

Small group

Strength Threes

Three people, one coach, one shared template with individual loading. A steadier pace and a standing slot in the week, with company on the harder days.

  • Groups capped at three
  • Same slot each week
  • Individual loads within a shared plan

2 sessions per week

The coach

Marin Vale, Cloud Thread

I came to coaching the slow way — through a decade of training around shift work, a rebuilt knee and a long stretch of getting it wrong on my own. That is why the first thing I ask about is your calendar, not your goals.

The studio is small on purpose. I take a limited number of clients so I can remember what your last session felt like without checking a spreadsheet, and so the room is never busier than the work needs.

How it works

From enquiry to first session.

No contracts to read before you know whether this suits you. Three steps, and you can stop after the first.

  1. Step one

    A conversation

Send the form below and I reply with a time for a relaxed thirty-minute conversation — in the studio or over a call. We talk about your history, your week and what you want out of training. Nothing is booked yet.

  2. Step two

    Assessment and plan

The first paid session is a movement assessment. Afterwards you get a written plan: the sessions, the progression for the first block, and what to do on the days you train alone.

  3. Step three

    Train and review

You train the block. At the end of each month we sit down with the log, keep what is working and change what is not. Programmes are rewritten from evidence, not from the calendar.

Questions

Before you get in touch.

I have never lifted weights before. Is this for me?

Yes, and it is a large part of what I do. Beginners start with bodyweight and light loading while we build the movement patterns. Nothing gets heavier until the pattern holds without thinking about it.

What if I only have access to a basic gym?

Tell me what is in the room and the plan is written for that. Hybrid coaching exists precisely because most people train somewhere other than here for most of the week — a rack, a pair of dumbbells or a set of bands are all workable starting points.

How do I change or cancel a session?

Message me as early as you can and we move it in the same week where the schedule allows. Life with shift work, travel and childcare is expected, not penalised — the plan is built to absorb a missed session.

How quickly should I expect to see change?

Most people notice how a session feels before they notice anything else — usually within the first few weeks. Strength numbers follow a training block, which is why we review monthly rather than weekly. I will not promise you a timeline I cannot control.

Start with a conversation.

Tell me a little about where you are now. I read every enquiry myself and reply with a couple of times that could work.
